Missouri Chambourcin 2017 Wine

A spectacular solar eclipse occured on August 21, 2017, the year this wine was made. The grapes for this wine were on the vine when the New Moon came between the Sun and Earth and cast the darkest part of its shadow, the umbra, on Earth. This picture shows the landscape as seen from the winery minutes before the sun went completely behind the moon. It was almost as dark as night at 1:15pm in the afternoon. A day and a wine not to be forgotten.

Spicy and peppery with plum and blackberry flavors skirted by cedar notes and medium tannins. This Chambourcin is a wonderful complement to your barbecued pork and grilled dishes. Short-term aging should make this dry red favorite shine. Drink now through 2024.
