Cornbread Cream Dressing with Apples and Walnuts

Yield, 8 servings

Ingredients
8-10 oz Cornbread, Crumbled 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 cup Yellow Onion, Chopped
1/2 cup Carrot, Chopped
1/2 cup Celery, Chopped
1 cup Granny Smith Apple, Peeled ,Cored, and Chopped
1/2 cup Walnuts, Chopped
2 cups Heavy Cream


Directions
Melt butter over medium heat in a large sauté pan. Add onions, carrots, and celery. Cook until onions start to turn translucent about 2 minutes. Add walnuts and toss with vegetables cooking for about 1 minute. Then add apples and crumbled cornbread, stir together to blend. Slowly fold in the heavy cream, adding enough until desired consistency and continue cooking until heated through. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve as a perfect side dish with turkey or roasted chicken.
